50th Anniversary Celebration of the
Institute of African American Affairs &
Center for Black Visual Culture
The Institute of African American Affairs at NYU was established in 1969, during a period of change and awakenings of cultural, civil and artistic significance on the national and global landscape. To mark the golden anniversary of the Institute, on October 17, 2019, we celebrated with past directors, special invited guests and moments that demonstrated the Institute’s past, present and future. Co-sponsored by Office of the SVP Global Inclusion, Diversity and Strategic Innovation.
